Sofia airport is the largest airport in Bulgaria. It is located 10 km east of the city centre.

From and to Sofia Airport:

By car:

“Bryuksel” and “Tsarigratsko shose” boulevards connect the airport with the city centre in the west direction. Trakia highway connects the airport with the city centre in the east direction. “Botevgradsko shose” boulevard connects the airport with Hemus highway.

Parking lots in Sofia Airport:

You can reserve airport parking place with our airport parking form. We guarantee low prices and highly secured lots. There are also paid parking lots, located right in front of the terminals at Sofia Airport. They are open 24 hours. 400 parking spaces are available at Terminal 1 parking lot. 800 parking spaces are available at Terminal 2 parking lot.

By public transportation:

There are two bus lines that connect the airport with the city center. Line 84 serves the route from Terminal 1 to Sofia University and backwards. Line 284 serves the route from Terminal 2 to Sofia University and backwards. Sofia University bus stop provides convenient transportation links with the underground lines, as well as with other bus and trolleybus lines.

By taxi:

There are taxi stands located near the west exits of the “Arrivals” zone at Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 at Sofia Airport. You can also order a taxi for free by going to one of the taxi companies’ counters, located at the “Arrivals” zone of both terminals at Sofia Airport.

Shuttle bus:

There is a free shuttle bus that runs between the two terminals at Sofia Airport. It runs every 30 minutes by schedule from 07:00 to 18:00. It could also be ordered out of schedule, from 18:00 to 23:00, by going to the “Information” counters, located in the public zones of both terminals at Sofia Airport.

Airline tickets:

You can buy airline tickets for “EasyJet” and “Germanwings” airlines from the counters of the companies, located at Terminal 1 of Sofia Airport (next to the “Information” counter).

Restaurants and cafés:

There are three cafés located in the “Departures” zone, and one café in the “Arrivals” zone, at Terminal 1 of Sofia Airport. They offer a range of cold and hot drinks, beer, alcoholic drinks, wine, breakfast, desserts, and sandwiches. There are two cafés located on level 0, and five cafés on level 1, at Terminal 2 of Sofia Airport. They offer a range of cold and hot drinks, beer, alcoholic drinks, wine, breakfast, desserts, and sandwiches. At World News Café on level 0 you can also read your favorite newspaper and watch the news. At Jimmy’s on level 1 you can also enjoy some ice-cream.

Shops:

There are several shops in the “Arrivals” zone at Terminal 1 of Sofia Airport. There you can find two shops that offer newspapers, magazines, books, cigarettes, and mineral water. There is also a shop offering traditional Bulgarian souvenirs, and a shop offering a wide variety of children’s toys. There are several shops at Terminal 2 as well. On level 0 you can find a shop that offers newspapers, magazines, cigarettes, packaged foods, and mineral water. On level 1 you can find a shop that offers traditional Bulgarian souvenirs, and a shop that offers tobacco, cigars, pipes and accessories.

Internet:

Sofia Airport offers free Wi-Fi Internet so that you can make your stay there more pleasant.

Business Lounge:

There is a business lounge located on the second floor, in the transit zone of the “Departures” hall. It opens two hours before the first flight for the day and closes after the last flight for the day. You can access the business lounge with an invitation from your airline company. The business lounge offers a comfortable atmosphere, a variety of drinks, copying and fax services, Internet access, and Bulgarian and foreign press.

Duty free shops:

There are four duty free shops located in the “Departures” hall, and one duty free shop in the “Arrivals” hall, of Terminal 1 at Sofia Airport. There are three duty free shops located in the “Departures” hall, and one duty free shop in the “Arrivals” hall, of Terminal 2 at Sofia Airport. The duty free shops offer a wide range of perfumes, cosmetics, jewellery, accessories, toys, alcoholic drinks, foods, and tobacco. The products available in the duty free shops have competitive prices. You can pay in euro, Bulgarian leva, American dollars, Swiss francs, and British pounds, as well as with a credit card.
